Building monitoring devices to explore the environmental conditions that affect plant well-being
This workshop explores the needs of plants through the construction of devices capable of monitoring the conditions of their environment. During the activity, participants worked with sensors, electronics, and programming to measure variables such as light, sound, temperature, distance, and soil moisture.
The data collected made it possible to observe the environmental conditions surrounding each plant and reflect on how these could affect its well-being. Through a hands-on process of building and experimentation, participants explored technology as a tool for better understanding the needs of other organisms and paying closer attention to the conditions of the spaces we share.
