Marvelous Things is a project developed by artists and researchers María Castellanos and Alberto Valverde, initiated in 2020 as a space for research and creative practice around technology applied to artistic and educational contexts.

The project emerged from the need to develop their own technological tools and resources for exploring electronics, programming, sensors and interaction within creative processes. Through this research, Castellanos and Valverde design and build their own electronic boards, interfaces, kits and devices, together with materials and resources for learning and experimentation.

The tools developed through Marvelous Things are designed to be incorporated into artistic artefacts, artworks and installations, enabling the creation of interactive devices and systems capable of responding to their surroundings. The project also develops educational activities and workshops in which these resources are used as a starting point for learning through making, experimenting with technology and developing participants’ own projects.

Throughout its development, Marvelous Things has generated a set of tools and methodologies that connect technology education with artistic practice, fostering learning processes based on curiosity, experimentation and making.

The project remains active and continues to evolve through the development of new tools, devices and resources that expand the possibilities of technology within artistic and educational contexts.
